How to Make an Easy Cheese Naan Pizza

Welcome to this amazing recipe! I will show you how to make an amazing and simple cheese naan pizza that is super quick to make. Great for parties or when you don’t feel like spending too much time cooking.

To make cheese naan pizza, simply take your favorite naan bread and add cheese and any topping to your liking! Don’t be afraid to try out new ideas, in this recipe it’s hard to go wrong.

  • 2 naan bread (homemade or store bought)
  • 200 gram mozzarella
  • 100 gram tomato paste
  • 1 shallot
  • 100 gram parmesan cheese
  • 5 cherry tomatoes
  • a splash of olive oil


  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp peper
  • 2 tsp Italian herb mix
  • 1/2 tsp optional garlic powder
  • 1 tsp optional dried coriander
  • optional basil garnish

What to consider when choosing ingredients

Like always the above ingredient list is just what I used for these cheese naans, they turned out great so if you don’t feel like getting creative just skip this part and go to step 2.

Starting with the base of the recipe; the cheese naan. I used store bought naans which already had the koriander and garlic seasoning, hence the optional’s in the spice list.

As usually done is cheese naans, I decided to use mozzarella to get a melted effect, I added some Parmesan to give more flavors. Choose your favorite cheese if you wish, I would only like to recommend to go for a cheese that really melts and covers the surface of the cheese naan. 

The tomato paste, cherry tomatoes and olive oil to create a bit of a sauce full of flavor. Accompanied by the cherry tomatoes which work out really well in the oven. It’s like they soak up flavor and release the flavor when bitten into.

Go for any other base for a sauce you like, a homemade one if you want to dive deep. Just keep in mind the magic trio of flavor, texture and visual effect of your dish.

The intense flavor of the tomato paste is used here to balance the light and smooth flavor of the mozzarella cheese, always implement both and try to find the perfect balance. The overal flavor of you dish will be very rich on not feel empty.


Now for the spices, great for bringing in flavor and a visual effect. Of course I went for the salt and pepper to form the base layer of flavor. Accompanied by the Italian herb mix to be balanced by the chili flakes and smoked paprika powder. This trio will give a great balanced taste and the visual effect is immense! 

Consider using different types of spices like chili powder or use a chili oil instead of the olive oil. Add sambal if you want to go crazy with the spicy level.

To complete the visual effect, add a green garnish, like the mentioned basil. I always recommend doing this, it looks great and gives the food that finishing touch! 

Let’s continue with the steps:

Step 2: Chop the ingredients and build the cheese naan

As this is a very easy recipe, this step will be super easy. First pre-heat the oven to 220C and lay out the naan bread. Chop the shallot and half the tomatoes.

Spread the naan bread with tomato paste and cover with mozzarella pieces, ripped up by hand.

Add some salt and pepper to the mozzarella, to boost its flavor. Layer the shallot and tomatoes on top.

Add the oil and cover with Parmesan, followed by the spices and that’s it! Your cheese naan is ready for the oven.

Step 3: Cooking the cheese naan and serving

Cook the cheese naan in the oven for about 10 minutes at 220C, check after 8 minutes to see if it’s cooked. If the sides are crunchy, the cheese if molten and the tomatoes shrunk, you should be good to go! If not, wait another 2 minutes and repeat.

When ready, chop the cheese naan in bite size pieces and top with the basil garnish! The dish doesn’t need a lot more work than that, consider adding some oil after oven but really, it’s already great after the oven!
